Blogging may or may not be your thing. Maybe you’ve had an occasional “what if” thought about starting your own web site, but just don’t want to lug a laptop around all the time. This app won’t replace your laptop entirely, but it’s a near perfect solution.

WordPress for iPhone runs on the new iPhone 3G, the original iPhone, and iPod touch, enabling many features found the the WordPress Dashboard. This is an extremely powerful, but simple to use web publishing tool that can be used for updating and editing any kind of web site.

Moderating blog comments, editing pages or writing new posts, adding new images, and even setting up new blogs using only iPhone may seem almost dreamlike to long time WordPress users. The WordPress Dashboard is very powerful and has evolved recently to be quite user friendly. Seeing these features in action on iPhone could even turn a number of current WordPress bloggers into first time iPhone owners.

Basically anytime you are writing, you can type something that resembles a link (for example “www.” or “http”) to invoke a little prompt that asks you if you want to create a link. Answering yes will bring up another prompt asking you to fill in the URL. I think this is slick interface although some people might find it a bit annoying.

Most of the bugs have been worked out in the first year of development, which is ongoing and very active. Minor limitations exist, but if you want more control than the native WordPress post via email feature, WordPress for iPhone let’s you quickly access and update web sites with ease.
