The CrunchPad tablet nears completion

The CrunchPad

You’re looking at a “near-final” design of the CrunchPad, the brainchild of Mike Arrington (of TechCrunch fame, thus the name). It’s a 12-inch touchscreen tablet running a Linux-based operating system and a WebKit-based browser, and while it’s designed with couch-based operation in mind, I think it might end up more than a few briefcases and overnight bags as well.

Arrington tells us that they’re in “deep discussion” with partners to commercially release the device, and if they can do so at (or under) the $299 target they’re aiming for, mark my words – this thing will sell like hotcakes.
