The HTC Desire (which is almost undoubtedly my next phone) is set for release on Telstra’s Next G network next month. Read on for the details.
Telstra has secured its first full QWERTY Nokia, the E71. The E71 is just 10mm thick, supports quad-band GSM and HSDPA 3G (3.6 Mbps), syncs with Microsoft Exchange, edits Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint formats, and actually supports USB tethering for use as a 3G modem.
3 customers with compatible handsets can now get 3G speeds outside 3’s coverage areas thanks to an agreement with Telstra that provides roaming on their Next G network. Previously, 3 customers roamed to Telstra’s 2G network. The new agreement brings 3’s 3G coverage to 96% of Australia.
