AU (KDDI) and Sharp announce world’s first waterproof, solar powered cell phone

We’ve already seen solar powered handsets and waterproof handsets, but now AU (KDDI) and Sharp have announced the world’s first waterproof and solar powered handset.

FCC database confirms new Sidekick with T-Mobile 3G

Sharp and T-Mobile haven’t announced the new Sidekick yet, but that hasn’t stopped the FCC from confirming the rumors. A device with a model number PV300, which means Sidekick, has been shown up in the FCC’s database, and it uses the 1700MHz AWS 3G spectrum, which means T-Mobile.
