A few hours ago I posted about the fact you can walk into an Apple store right now and buy an iPhone 3GS without an AT&T contract. As MG Siegler at TechCrunch just pointed out, Apple did exactly the same thing this time last year, and it’s undoubtedly an exercise in making room out the [...]

Got an iPhone 3G or 3GS on AT&T? AT&T has just launched their official MMS support – welcome to 2002! MMS charges are 30 cents per message (or $1.30 while roaming), $5/month for 200, $15/month for 1500, $20 for unlimited, or $30 for unlimited on a FamilyTalk plan. Original iPhone users will have to put [...]
In the US, AT&T has had an exclusive contract with Apple for the iPhone since its release. In the UK, that honor of honors lies with O2. However, it seems that some lucky T-Mobile UK customers can purchase the iPhone 3G through their carrier, despite the fact that they have no agreement with Apple to [...]

Yesterday I closed my Sprint Mobile Broadband account. Right now, I’m writing this post in a coffee shop in Washington DC. I’m not on wi-fi because I’m tethered to my AT&T 3G Internet connection through my new iPhone 3GS.

AT&T will reportedly offer tethering with the new iPhone 3.0 software. What that means is that you will be able to use your iPhone as a modem for your laptop or netbook while you’re on the go.
SlingPlayer Mobile has finally arrived in the App Store, with one fairly major handicap – it won’t stream video over a 3G network. AT&T have cited their terms of service, which prohibits applications that “redirect a TV signal to a personal computer”, as the reason for blocking SlingPlayer’s 3G capability.
