Sierra Wireless AirCard 402

The AirCard 402 from Sierra Wireless has arrived at Sprint, which will appeal to many of you who still use an older laptop with a PCMCIA (PC Card) slot, thanks to the inclusion of a locking ExpressCard-to-PCMCIA adapter. The AirCard 402 supports dual-band CDMA and EV-DO 1xRTT, Rev. 0 and Rev. A, with typical download speeds of 600Kbps – 1.4Mbps when EVDO Rev. A is available.

The Sprint SmartView software required to connect is stored on the modem itself, which will automatically install it to your machine without the need to dig out an installation CD, which is an added bonus for anyone using a netbook with ExpressCard and no optical drive.

An instant saving of $180 and a $50 mail-in rebate bring the price of the AirCard 402 to $99.99.
