Sirius XM Skydock for iPhone
With “preliminary” approval by the FCC, Sirius is going through an evaluation on a new accessory that turns iPhone or iPod Touch into a satellite radio. Acting as a charging station and dock, Skydock actually taps XM’s satellite radio signal, not just the Sirius XM Internet streaming channels currently available on the Sirius iPhone app.
Skydock may not be as convenient as satellite radio installed in your car, but it doesn’t require a cellular or wi-fi signal to operate. Details on how receiving calls while iPhone is docked and playing satellite radio should be forthcoming. Skydock will cost $120 this fall and should be popular among current Sirius XM subscribers who want to listen in more than one car.

The Sky Dock is crap
I don’t use a dock and I have my iPhone wired into my stereo for music because FM transmitters are not that reliable anyway. I don’t like a “dock” because it generally involves installing something that looks completely out of place in my car (although I did try one once).
So what was it you didn’t like most about Sky Dock? Was there anything you did like about it or do you have suggestions on how it could be improved?
