Younger children are using mobile devices more than ever before and parents have had little, if any control over what their children are able to access while using mobile Internet devices.
Content Control 2.0 is a policy-based solution from Flash Networks to allow parents to have better control over what their children are viewing using mobile devices. This new program will allow parents to take control of what their children are accessing and take a more active role in monitoring their children’s online activities.
Parents can select which content they deem inappropriate and how the filtering should be applied for each member of the family. It is not a one-size fits all solution which makes it even more valuable. Emma Mohr-McClune, Research Director at Current Analysis states: “Putting subscribers in the driver seat and letting them choose how controls are implemented provides a better alternative to regulation and across the board blocking of mobile content.”
Content Control 2.0 is a web-based application which will let parents control the content accessed by type of content and when access is denied. So you don’t have to worry about Junior sneaking online in the middle of the night.
There are two types of notification that parents can receive – an immediate SMS or an email notice when access or if access is attempted. This notice allows parents to see what type of content their children are trying to access and so may create opportunities for discussion in these areas.
Chat, video and images generated by social media sites can also be granted or blocked at the parents discretion.
Content Control 2.0 is a part of the Harmony Mobile Internet Services Gateway from Flash Networks which are deployed at several tier one operators in Europe and North America.
