According to a Russian Motorola fan site this is one of the two Android-based phones Motorola has confirmed they will have in stores in time for the holiday season. Code-named Shules, or “Sholes” as the site calls it, the renders of the phone reveal a sliding QWERTY design, 5-megapixel camera, Verizon branding and what looks like a mini touchpad to the right of the keyboard.

Listed features include a 3.7-inch touchscreen with 480×854 pixel resolution, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of storage with support for up to 16GB via microSD/microSDHC (an 8GB microSD reportedly ships with the phone), GPS, and the usual connectivity suspects, USB2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetoooth 2.0 + EDR 1, and 802.11g Wi-Fi.

The 5-megapixel autofocus camera supports video recording and the camera supports MPEG-4, H.263, H.264 and WMV video formats and AMR-NB/WB, MP3, PCM / WAV, AAC, AAC +, eAAC + and WMA audio formats. And if Google’s translation is accurate the phone will support both CDMA and EVDO Rev A, which could make the Shules the first Android phone to work on a 3G network.

There’s no indication of price, but the site claims the Shules will debut in the U.S. in October. Let’s keep our fingers crossed they’re right because the phone looks none too shabby.
