MotionApps Classic: Palm OS emulator for Palm Pre confirmed, demoed on video

MotionApps Classic on the Palm Pre

MotionApps Classic on the Palm Pre

While Palm won’t hesitate to tell you how easy it is to write code for the Palm Pre, there’s a heap of apps that existing Palm users will have trouble living without. By emulating the Palm OS on the Pre, MotionApps Classic will make the switch tolerable for said users while the developers scramble to port their apps to webOS.

The virtual Palm won’t be able to HotSync, but it will be able to access the Internet, so workarounds to sync data might be available. MotionApps Classic will be available for purchase as soon as the Pre is, for an as yet undisclosed price.

(Despite the fact they’re offering embed code, Brighthand’s video “cannot be viewed from this website” – you’ll have to head over there to watch it.)
