Microsoft Incubation Week
Last week, Microsoft hosted a competition for Windows Mobile developers at its Silicon Valley Campus in Mountain View, CA. Six finalists were chosen from 50 applications:
- Brightkite – Location-aware social networking
- DJ Nitrogen – Legal sharing of user-generated content incorporating copyrighted works
- Motolingo – Vehicle diagnostics for businesses
- Networks in Motion – Turns GPS-enabled phones into full-featured navigation devices
- VisTracks – Visual business intelligence and asset tracking
- VoiceMuffler – Real-time speech translation for military and civilian use
Yesterday it was announced that Networks in Motion took the honors with their Gokivo Navigator product, and will receive “early placement” in the upcoming Windows Marketplace for Mobile for their efforts.
Windows Mobile developers in Europe and Asia should keep an eye out for similar events in their region shortly.
