Facebook on Windows Mobile 6.5

After announcing Windows Mobile 6.5 at Mobile World Congress, Microsoft has started revealing some of the nitty gritty – namely social networking applications, developer support, and designer/custom themes.

Microsoft has partnered with the Design Museum London and Council of Fashion Designers of America to offer free designer themes for Windows Mobile 6.5. Fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi is the first designer of many who will create custom themes, color palettes and wallpaper. Additionally, a Theme Generator will be released later this year, which will allow users to create their own themes on their PC.

A number of companies have signed on develop applications for Windows Marketplace for Mobile, notably The Associated Press, CNBC, EA Mobile, Facebook, Gameloft, MySpace, Namco, Netflix, Pandora, and Sling Media.

In addition to the MySpace application due this Summer, and Facebook application due in April, Microsoft will release Windows Live for Mobile in 25 languages this week. Windows Mobile 6.x users can download the suite on April 2 from http://wl.windowsmobile.com/. Microsoft have also launched a beta version of Windows Live Hotmail for use with a Windows Mobile browser, which can be accessed at http://m.mail.live.com/.
