iPhone 3.0
Over the weekend, pictures of what appear to be the upcoming iPhone in action surfaced on the web. The photos were posted (and later removed) by Hong Kong-based UMPC Fever, and show off a few of the features we already knew were included in OS 3.0, including video capture, multimedia messaging, and an improved stock interface.
The images also revealed two previously unconfirmed features – an auto-focus option on the camera, and a built-in compass – both of which point to hardware upgrades rather than software ones.
The iPhone OS 3.0 and a new iPhone are expected to be released later this summer.
