iPhone OS 3.0 jailbreak
The folks from Dev-Team have announced that they’re ready to release new versions of their QuickPwn and PwnageTool jailbreaking tools for iPhone OS 3.0 that will work with iTunes 8.2. They’ll be holding off on the release until shortly after Apple has officially released iPhone OS 3.0 to ensure the hole they’re exploiting cannot be patched at the last minute.
ultrasn0w, the software-based unlock tool for OS 3.0 that allows you to use a jailbroken iPhone on any carrier, will be released on Friday.
In other news, it’s now known that the iPhone 3G S uses the same baseband as the existing iPhone 3G, so things are looking good for a 3G S jailbreak (and carrier unlock).
