IRS wants to tax business mobile phones

Hopefully, you’re more outraged than surprised. There’s actually a completely outdated law that classifies employer-provided cell phones not as work tools, but as taxable benefits. IRS has now proposed employers report on each worker’s cellphone usage and that workers pay tax on personal calls.

FLO TV is going national

Research in Motion purchases Dash Navigation

Now that Research in Motion has purchased Dash Navigation, it is hoped that RIM will use the software in future models of their product line and provide better GPS technology for their users.

INQ plans to make a Twitter phone

INQ has announced plans to make a Twitter-phone sometime later this year. The phone would be the first mass-market phone focused on the service and is expected to cost consumers less than $140.

Qualcomm’s 1.3 GHz Snapdragon chipset

AirTran partners with Aircell to offer Gogo Wi-Fi on every flight

AirTran plans to be the first major airline to offer Wi-Fi on every flight, with all 136 jets scheduled for installation by mid-summer. AirTran will be using Aircell’s network and Gogo product to provide the service.
