Acer 3D Notebook
Coming soon to a notebook you can own – you’ll be able to watch 3-D movies and shows at your own convenience and where ever you want. You’ll still need the special specs though.
Building on the increase of movies and shows which are filmed in 3-D, Acer says it plans to launch a 3-D notebook developed jointly with Wistron.
While there aren’t a lot of details available at Digitimes
they are saying that the new notebook will be equipped with Windows 7 and no official announcement will be made from Acer until Windows launches the new OS.
Over at itbusiness.ca they do note that a 3-D notebook isn’t a new idea as Sharp had released the Actius RD3D back in 2003 and it didn’t do very well at all. Granted it wasn’t aimed at the consumer market and there weren’t very many reasons for the average consumer to want a 3-D capable notebook.
Now that more movies and televisions shows are using 3-D consumers may be willing to wear the funny specs and have the portability and convenience to watch 3-D movies while they travel. Acer does plan to have a model developed that will not require the special glasses in order to view the 3-D content.
